Mosquitos
Mosquitos are
blood-sucking insects that inhabit almost all areas in the world
where there is humidity, stagnant or slow-running water. They
number over 2000 genera and can be malarial (carriers of
malarial fever) or non-malarial.
Mosquitos
pass through 4 stages of development:
OVUM>LARVA>PUPA>IMAGO.
The first three stages take place in water environment, and the last one - the imagoes, are the actively flying insects, which feed on blood from warm-blooded (humans and animals) organisms.
Only the female mosquito sucks blood. Its lifespan is between 2 to 6 months, spawning 100-300 eggs. The males live for 15-20 days. It has been proven, that blood-sucking mosquitos are hosts to more than 50 viral and bacterial infections, which could be transmitted through biting.
