Black rat
It is also called rattus rattus or a roof rat. It is smaller and more graceful than the brown rat. It reaches up to 21 cm in length and up to 300 grams in weight. Its hair cover is grey to greyish-black, sometimes with a brownish shade. It jumps to a height of 1 meter, it is a good climber and it runs excellently. The fertility of the black rat produces up to 8 youngs, which reach their sexual maturity in 2-3 months. Its life lasts up to 2 years. It is most frequently found at dry places - attics, barns, storehouses, as well as in vineyards.
